Mitchell's son's big question of the week (week 2)
Andrew is back again asking, "Who cares if Dad's on the radio? I've got another question for people to offer their opinions here!"
DAD: Oy. Okay, but's let's make it quick, alright?
ANDREW: Okay, okay--
DAD: I already said "okay"--
ANDREW: Dad, let me ask the question! Sheesh! Here it is:
It's almost June. Who's going to be in the World Series for the American and National Leagues this fall?
DAD: Hmmmm...certainly not my beloved Dodgers. In the AL, the ChiSox look great, but the Yanks seemed most determined to make up for their--
ANDREW: No speeches! Just name the two teams!!
DAD: Alright already! The Yanks in the AL and San Diego in the NL.
ANDREW: Anyone else care to try? I say, Anaheim Angels (our family says no to "LA" Angels) for the AL and St. Louis for the NL.

Where are all the comments? Folks, this is the national pastime we're talkin' about! (it isn't any more? Oops, my bad)
Anyway, I have no predictions, but would like to laud the success of my new old hometown team, the Washington Nationals. A recent slump has brought their record down to .500, which is nothing to be ashamed of. Ted Williams led the team to a finish of 10 games over .500, and it was like going to the Series. Go Nats!
Paul,
We're still talking Expos, which does make the National's record some sort of miracle. But then I read that Colin Powell may become an owner of the Nationals and I think, oh boy, that means they'll say they won a game when they lost, blame the newspapers for printing the standings (it reenforces a negative impression when we need to positive), etc.
Yeah, I read about that. Washington baseball teams seem cursed when it comes to owners. The way I image it, Powell will disagree strongly about strategy but be too spineless to do anything about it, then whine to Bob Woodward that he knew they were bound to fail. What a role model!
