My day-job: Attorney. I am also a husband, father, and writer. I am the author of an alternative history novel, "A Disturbance of Fate" (Seven Locks, 2003), which is about Robert F. Kennedy surviving 1968 and becoming president. The book received endorsements from historians, writers, and political advisers who worked with RFK. It received a "starred" review from Publisher's Weekly and was a finalist for best alternative history (the Sidewise Award) in 2004. I just found your blog. I want to ask you something since you are a lawyer and might know the answer. If Bush was empeached would not cheney take his place? could by law bush and cheney be empeached at the same time? i have read that it would take a year to empeach bush and then maybe 6 months to get him out of office, is this correct?
Both may be impeached under Article I, section 4 of the US Constitution:
"Section 4. The President, Vice President and all civil officers of the United States, shall be removed from office on impeachment for, and conviction of, treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors."
And yes, they may be simultaneously removed via impeachment.

ok they could be impeached but probably wont. the house wont have the stomach for it, i think. I think that bush or cheney or maybe both might go on trial for war crimes in the futher. i know that is probably wild talk but we know they have done some BAD things and there can not be in doubt that we only have seen the tip of the ice burg.
